1. Originated in 30s from the fact that most distinctive thing about women is broader hips in comparison to men.

2. (US Slang) A woman or a girl 

3. A promiscuous woman 

4. A women less respectable than lady but more respectable than a bitch.  Mathematically,  Lady > Broad > Bitch
